Great to see the local vegetation retained and feeding the feathered friends... AoK

Good campus with a variety of services. Some of them are good: the library, the free computers and printers, the lecture recordings, the many cafes that, although expensive, have some... acceptable food for a campus, etc.

This university cant get concession fares correct. First time we applied in december, griffith university stuffed up and we had to wait for 3 more weeks while another application was sent in and it was a relief to finally get concession fares. (Adult bus fares are 3.20 for 6 stops at 8am and concession cost $1.60). I thought it was over but it's not, I mean why else would I still be here on this review page? So I tried to transfer my concession over to another card as one of my cards has issues. Now I'm stuffing myself up : griffith ignores my concession application and 20 calls later, translink says its not their responsibility to help, and griffith claims it is not their responsibility to accept the concession. And finally, a lady at student centre gave her word that she has the authority to process this and will do so right now (can't believe I'm dumb enough to trust her) but the next day i called translink who charged me $5 for no reason randomly, and they said that griffith university has never called them. Everyone I email in my faculty says this is not their responsibility, and other people I email out of my faculty also says this is not their responsibility. Of course i looked up their website and there is no one in charge of translink/travel. I think I will need to speak to the chancellory. This student centre lady even told me that my few dollars "was not even a hundred dollars". I couldn't respond to that. I hope Griffith University checks their reviews and could organise for this to be settled. They told me off for being demanding, but I could only be as polite to them as they were to my time and money.

I spent months trying to get into this school and take courses at the level I was previously studying at in the US. I was placed into the program at the first year level (I had completed 3 years in the US) they did nothing to help me transfer at all. The staff are completely incompetent, they do everything in their power to get you out of the building and to "help" the next sorry person who thinks they might get assistance. When you do get through to the higher ups, they're often not helpful at all and are more liable to tell you there is nothing they can do rather than offer solutions to your problems. To add insult to injury they then make you pay HUNDREDS of dollars for parking at a public university which also doesn't guarantee you a spot. A waste of time and a joke of an education institution.

Areas of improvement include the way assignments are managed. Group works weigh too much on the final marks, and there's a huge focus on research, while education is only tested via multiple choice quizzes most of the times.
